Ode to Sean b'y
We knew he was a wandering soul when he joined the Steel Workers so it should not have come as a surprise when young Sean b'y?s fancy turned to wandering once again. And wander he has done. With $12.72 (an estimate) in his pocket, a mandolin on his back, and a trans-Atlantic flight paid for with sheer charm and good looks one must assume, Sean b'y now fills the beer halls of Berlin with his soulful musical stylings. With e-mail not being Sean b'y?s favorite method of communication, news of his adventures are few and far between. Last we heard he was living in a combination house/bookstore with a number of like minded traveling musicians and gigging regularly. For those of you who don?t know the man personally, this is getting dangerously close to Nirvana, the bookstore alone would be enough to put a smile on his face. However, us making a big deal of his departure may possibly wipe that smile from his face. It?s a chance we?re willing to take ?cause you?re never 100% sure with Sean b'y, the only thing you can be sure of is that he?s doing what he wants and that?s good enough for us. Until we meet again Mr. Moore.

Sean b'y Moore: Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Accordion, Backing Vocals. Labrador native Sean Moore sparks life into The USWM bringing a jolt of electricity to the stage. An endless generator of one-liners and sharp wit, fuelled only by beer and his immense heart, Sean fires across his banjo, mandolin and guitar but has also been known to draw a tear or two with his sparse, atmospheric work on the accordion.
Newfie by way of Lab City, South Ontario, St. John?s and, seemingly, forever, Montreal street-level punk rocker Sean-b?y Moore was influenced by an inescapable inundation of Celtic Folk during his time as the self proclaimed weirdo of any-small-town, Canada. Having provided the lifeblood that propelled the Dirty Ol? Band, Randborro and The Slaters, he now plugs his pump into the heart of The United Steel Workers of Montreal. Inventor of and strict adherent to the Freedom 32 retirement plan, Sean-b?y believes in indulging only in life?s finer things ? music, the tinny, a good dog walking. His rapier-like wit and rapier-like mandolin playing are the poles that hold up the tent that is The United Steel Workers of Montreal. He wants nothing to do with Norman Mailer.
